Trail rides and mobile horse training

Trail rides, and training that comes to your horse.

Rides for every level at an unhurried pace, on horses I've got ready for you. Based in Syracuse, Utah.

“A horse doesn’t care how much you know until he knows how much you care.”

Pat Parelli

Book a trail ride

Pick a ride, then pick a day.

These are the days I've actually got open, straight off my own calendar.

Every ride is a private ride. Gift rides can be arranged too, just get in touch.

What I do

Come ride, bring me your horse, or learn to ride.

Trail rides

Just two riders at a time, so the pace is yours and nobody is stuck at the back of a line. You ride my horses, so a first time on a horse is completely fine.

Training

I work your horse, built on the Core 4 every session. No hauling and no new environment to lose progress in. I come to you, anywhere within 15 miles of Syracuse.

Lessons

You are not just learning to ride, you are learning to communicate. Fifty minutes, one on one, on the same Core 4 foundation. Ages 8 and up, beginners welcome.

See what we cover

The Core 4

Four things, worked in order, every time.

It is the same framework whether I am working your horse, teaching you, or both. It is also where the name comes from.

  1. I

    Establish physical boundary

Safety comes first. A horse that understands your space is a horse you can actually work with.

  2. II

    Clear ask

Asking in a way the horse can understand, so neither of you is guessing at what comes next.

  3. III

    Feel and timing

Knowing when to ask and, just as importantly, when to release. This is the part that takes time.

  4. IV

    Connection and consistency

The same answer every time, until it stops being a routine and turns into a partnership.

Why ride with me

I know every horse in the string.

  • You get me, every time. No rotating guides, no crowded string of twenty riders. I pick your horse myself.
  • Beginners are genuinely welcome. If you've never been on a horse, say so when you book. That's useful for me to know, not a problem.
  • Real availability, booked online. It's my actual calendar. Book the slot and it's yours.
  • Horses kept soft. The same work I do for clients is what keeps my own horses quiet and honest on the trail.

From the trail

Real days, real light.

Ready when you are

Come ride, or call me about your horse.

Trail rides book straight from the calendar. Training starts with a short call so I can hear what you're working on.
