Riding lessons
You're not just learning to ride. You're learning to communicate.
We focus on creating a solid foundation using the Core 4 principles through the program. Establishing safety with physical boundaries, creating a clear ask, improving feel and timing, and ensuring connection and consistency turns it into a lasting partnership.

The Core 4
Four things, worked in order, every time.
It is the same framework whether I am working your horse, teaching you, or both. It is also where the name comes from.
-
I
Establish physical boundary
Safety comes first. A horse that understands your space is a horse you can actually work with.
-
II
Clear ask
Asking in a way the horse can understand, so neither of you is guessing at what comes next.
-
III
Feel and timing
Knowing when to ask and, just as importantly, when to release. This is the part that takes time.
-
IV
Connection and consistency
The same answer every time, until it stops being a routine and turns into a partnership.
Already have a horse?
Then train the trainer might suit you better.
If you have your own horse and want to learn on that horse, train the trainer is training and lessons in one. I work with your horse and teach you the how and why behind every step.
How that worksGood to know
How lessons are billed and moved.
How does payment work?
Lessons are billed monthly rather than one at a time. Trail rides are the other way round, you pay per ride.
What if I need to move a lesson?
Give me at least 48 hours and I will move you to another slot if one is open. Make up spots depend on what is free that month, so the earlier you tell me the better the odds. If there is no spot left to move you into, that lesson is forfeited.
Do I need a helmet?
Riders under 18 need to bring their own helmet and wear it. Over 18 it is your call.
Is there a weight limit?
Yes, 250 pounds. That one is for the horses, not for you.
What about the weather?
We ride in all weather. Dress for the day you have got and bring a layer more than you think you need.
Book a lesson
Pick a day that works for you.
Every open slot below comes straight off my calendar, so booking one is the whole thing. No waiting on a call back. I'll be in touch with the location and what to bring once you're on the books.
Call or text to book
The calendar is not loading right now. Call or text me at (503) 949-9256 and I'll get you a lesson on the books.
The live calendar is connected. It points at Jennifer's Calendly event lessons, kept separate from trail-ride-50min on purpose so a booked lesson closes that slot for trail rides too. She cannot be in two places at once. Calendly collects a name and an email on every booking, which is how she reaches the rider with the location afterwards.
Lessons are one on one and billed monthly. Not sure where to start, just send me a message.
